AYUDH Kolkata visit to Amritapuri 1
AYUDH Kolkata made their visit to Amma’s Ashram at Amritapuri, the Headquarters of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in Kerela. They had an absolutely unforgettable time at Amma’s Ashram in Amritapuri, a place where spirituality, nature, wisdom, and fun all come together.
The Day1 started with a tour of the university exploring the diverse ongoing global projects in various sectors, witnessing how service and innovation can coexist and uplift the world. Presentation on Amrita University & Research was conducted by Mr Krishnan Pillai, Program Officer at Amrita Center for International Programs. The Project teams of Live-in Labs, Robotics by Ammachi Labs, a fascinating Landslide Detection Demo by WNA Labs, and an illuminating Solar Projects Demo etc. gave a great learning experience to AYUDH members. Project teams engaged the AYUDHians with in-depth presentations and demonstrations inspiring the young minds with ideas on how to leverage technology for humanitarian efforts. AYUDH Kolkata’s experiences at Amritapuri and Amrita University, created a narrative that emphasizes the fusion of spirituality, service, research and humanitarian projects on the first day of their visit.
The day concluded with a serene evening of meditation, soulful Satsang, and melodious bhajans in Amma’s divine presence. The most special moment came when AYUDH Kolkata performed bhajans right in front of Amma. The highlight of the whole visit was receiving Amma’s Darshan – Amma's divine hug.
"The trip to Amritapuri was really a highlight of this year for me. It was a very exciting and learning experience for me. Amma's darshan was itself the most delightful thing, the first glance itself made me blank and at loss of words. The blissful presence of the Divine was hence proved by Amma's one glance and hug. The university visit was the learning part of course; we learnt about the institution and about the various fields of life and education", remarked Kankona Chakraborty, AYUDH Coordinator who is pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering at RCC institute of information Technology, Kolkata.
"There were so many learning exposures at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham related to technology, culture and many more. The shining jewels of Amritapuri are the people living in the ashram with full of compassion, love and kindness and who never made us feel aloof and always greeted us with a wide smile and encouraging words. I learnt a lot from this trip, mainly the 'seva bhava' and the kindness towards others which should never vanish in any situation. The trip was very insightful and it is the best one I could have in my life.", said Shagun Mishra, BCA student at Netaji Subhash Engineering college, Kolkata.
